Frequently Asked Questions:

*How long is the service?  What should I expect?
Our 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship service is approximately one hour long.  There are greeters at the main sanctuary door (the entrance closest to Clover Lane), and ushers distribute bulletins at the door which include the order of worship.  There is a guest book, name tags and additional church information available at the welcome table.  Each Sunday, the congregation joins in a variety of unison prayers and spoken responses that are printed in the bulletin.  Throughout the service, the congregation members may stand together or be seated as a sign of unity and respect for the worship experience.  Of course, those who are not physically able or comfortable to stand may feel free to remain seated.

On most Sundays, special service music includes songs presented by choral, bell, or youth choirs.  To maintain a prayerful spirit during the worship service, there is usually no applause after a musical anthem, unless the style of music or the occasion invites such a congregational response.  At the conclusion of worship, the pastoral staff greets people at the main sanctuary exit.  All are invited to enjoy donut holes, coffee, punch, and informal conversation which is offered in the fellowship hall (across from the church office) immediately following the worship service.

*What if I have special needs?
Large print bulletins, assisted listening devices, and children's bulletins with activity bags (including crayons) are available at the main sanctuary door from an usher.  Rest rooms are located on the hallway (facing west) adjacent to the sanctuary.  Additional restrooms which are handicapped accessible can be found in the Sunday School wing (on the southeast side of the building, across from the nursery and pre-school rooms).

*What is available for my child(ren)?
A volunteer nursery for infants - 2 year olds is available free-of-charge to all.  The nursery is located at the southeast corner of the building at the same level as the sanctuary.  We encourage children of all ages to begin in worship with their families.  Each Sunday, there is a "Young in Spirit" time in worship when the young people are invited forward to sit near the front of the church for a short message with the pastor.  Afterwards, children may attend Sunday School until the conclusion of worship.  First-time visitors are always welcome, and parents may accompany their children to classes for part or all of the time.

Sunday School is provided September through May and selected Sundays in the summer.  Classes are located on the side of the building facing the south, and include:
Preschool (3&4 year olds)  -- classroom on the main level next to the nursery
Kindergarten & 1st grade    -- main level next to the preschool room
2nd and 3rd grade              -- lower level near "kitchen" area
4 & 5th grade                    --  lower level in middle area
6th grade                          --  lower level in southeast corner of building
7th & 8th grade                 --  church library (on the main level across from the church office)
9th - 12th grade                 --  youth are encouraged to remain in worship.  They may also attend SEARCH (study and enrichment) classes which are occasionally offered throughout the year, located in the fellowship hall (across from the church office on the main level).  On class days, SEARCH-aged youth should begin in church until all the young people are dismissed to Sunday School after the "Young in Spirit" message.

*Where do I park and enter the building?  A limited number of parking spots are available on a first-come basis in the front of the church (the Clover Lane entrance) to those who have mobility concerns.  Additional parking is available on the designated streets near the church, watch for posted village signs.  Directly south of the church building, there is a parking lot available across the street (Southway Way) next to the baseball diamonds.  People may access the church via the designated pedestrian crossing on Southway Way and enter the door on the southwest side of the building.
