No matter if you are a musician or, if you are one of the many who were erroneously told “you can’t sing – you can’t play”, then THIS is YOUR day to celebrate and make a joyful noise. Throughout this day, you will have the freedom and opportunity to write your own song, to sing, to drum, to ride sound waves and liberate the part of you that responds to music every day. Absolutely NO music experience needed – we promise!

Music... will help dissolve your perplexities and purify your character and sensibilities, and in time

of care and sorrow, will keep a fountain of joy alive in you. -Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Bio information on our presenters…

Diane Bloom, owner of Free Spirit Crystals in the Milwaukee area, has taught crystal healing and Reiki since 1992 and is the founder and co-teacher at Free Spirit School of Integrated Energy Healing. Diane has played guitar and been a singer/songwriter since her early teens and co-wrote a two-woman psycho-musical comedy called "Pop Out of the Drama" with Marge Rock. She also recorded a CD "From My Heart to Yours" with many of her original songs. Diane will be singing several songs from her show, "Pop Out of the Drama", after which participants will reflect on their own life and write their own verses to illustrate how they, too , can Pop Out! This will be an introspective, interactive and fun presentation.

Intention Drumming Drum Circle is facilitated by Scott Cincotta, the owner of Cincotta Music Enterprises LLC. Scott is a retired music educator, drum clinician, professional percussionist, and the facilitator of the Union Grove Village Drum Circle. For the past ten years, Scott has been running a community drum circle class through the greater Racine, Kenosha area, and has been hired by The Wisconsin Veteran Center, Shorelight Memory Care, churches, and various wellness studios. The drum circle workshop will reinforce what you may know about the hand drumming experience. You will have the opportunity to drum as a community, drum the I-Ching and shamanic drumming. The course will also include some history on drumming and how it is beneficial in today’s society for the adolescent through the elderly. The circle will conclude with Scott playing a Native American Flute meditation.

Anna Jester, a retired hospice nurse, land conservationist and a staff member at Free Spirit Crystals. Anna also teaches a variety of beginner classes and support groups which include meditation, loss and grief recovery, ritual and sacred journeys. Anna also provides deathing doula assistance. Anna will facilitate "Autumn with the Chakras," an experiential journey that explores gentle movement, energy, sound and breath culminating in a group meditation.

Janine Trede, a Sound School Graduate, works with Tibetan singing bowls and Alchemy Bowls (crystal singing bowls that have had other elements like Indium for divine balance and expanding the spirit with in and the other has traces of gold which generates a high frequency an unconditional and courageous love) giving them a richer, more harmonious sound In her sound healing room Janine uses a variety of musical instruments, in addition to a treatment table with bass speakers mounted to the bottom to give the client soothing sounds through a set of headphones as well as experience vibrations to the body through the bottom of the table providing a deep sense of relaxation.

Amy Prasad has BS Engineering, a Sound School Graduate and a skilled musician with 35 years of training in flute, piano, guitar, singing bowls and drumming. Kathryn Rambo, owner of Purple Otter Studio, has over 40 years of experience as a music therapist, meditation instructor, and reiki master. Kathryn’s private practice uses antique Tibetan Singing Bowls and Reverie Harp with individuals and or groups to create a soundscape that allows you to reach a deeply relaxed state, to turn off the stress response and return to a state of harmony as peace. Kathryn also offers Kalimba Playshops throughout the Milwaukee, Waukesha and Racine areas for adults who have been told they had no music bone in their body. It is Kathryn’s dream that through these music experiences you will come to know and experience just how healing music is and its ability to mend our spirit, heal our body, activate our mind, and spark our creativity, all of which she believes, is unlimited.
