About The Event

Reclaiming and Recovering our Creative Self: A mandala is a form of artwork that functions as a spiritual and ritual symbol in different cultures all over the world. Psychologist Carl Jung believed that the mandala represents the Self and that drawing a mandala gives a person a sacred space to meet that Self. He considered making mandalas an effective way to help calm and comfort us especially during life’s challenges.  Making a mandala can serve as an internal guide into our meditation and into our healing process. In the Buddhist and Hindu traditions, the mandala guides you to the center, to the cosmic doorway, in order to assist in transforming the universe from a  place of suffering into a place of joy and happiness.  We will explore making our own personal mandala as a way to retrieve our own inner wisdom, and especially to re-claim, recover our creative Self.
