frequently asked questions

WHERE SHOULD I PARK?

Greendale Community Church is on the corner of Southway and Clover. There is street parking on Clover Street but most people park in the parking lot across Southway by the baseball diamond.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Most people dress casually but come exactly how you would like.

ARE MY CHILDREN WELCOME?

Yes, we love to see our church brimming with little faces! Kids will start in church with their parents where they get to enjoy a segment we call Young in Spirit with Pastor Dave. From there they will go to their Sunday School classrooms. The exception to this is the first Sunday of the month where kids will meet in the Fellowship Room instead of in service. Our Sunday School program is for children ages K3-6th grade. We have our SEARCH program for grades 7-12 and we also offer nursery care for infants through age 2. For more information on our weekly lesson plans click HERE. If you'd like to talk to someone further about religious education please email our director of religious education, Nancy Krase at nancykrase@sbcglobal.net

WHO CAN TAKE COMMUNION?

The short answer is everyone. We practice communion on the first Sunday of every month and believe that it should be offered to everyone.

WHAT IS WORSHIP LIKE?

Each Sunday, the congregation joins in a variety of unison prayers and spoken responses that are printed in the bulletin.  Throughout the service, the congregation members may stand together or be seated as a sign of unity and respect for the worship experience.  Of course, those who are not physically able or comfortable to stand may feel free to remain seated.  Special service music includes songs presented by choral, bell, or youth choirs.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SERVICE IS OVER?

At the conclusion of worship, the pastoral staff greets people at the main sanctuary exit. All are invited to enjoy donut holes, coffee, punch, and informal conversation which is offered in the fellowship hall (across from the church office) immediately following the worship service.

DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER TO PARTICIPATE?

You do not have to be a member to participate in our services, Sunday school classes, or adult education classes.
