About The Event
The Gospel of Thomas is a collection of 114 sayings of Jesus. It was discovered near Nag Hammadi, Egypt, in 1945 and is completely preserved. The Gospel of Thomas is without question the most significant book discovered in the Nag Hammadi library and represents some of the earliest writings of early Christianity. Similar to Proverbs, the Gospel of Thomas is a collection of sayings that are meant to bring wisdom and eternal life to the one who take the time to understand Jesus’ meaning in it. In this gospel, Jesus states that it is through a mystical understanding and experience that salvation comes, not only through doctrines to believe in or sacraments.
